Website Pricing
Often the first question asked when considering a website is "How much will it cost?". Our Designer Websites and Template Websites involve varying amounts of time to create - with consideration for your specific requirements and budget - so there is no set price.
But, as in all things, you will get what you pay for and your website cost will vary depending on whether you want a bicycle or a BMW.
The cost of a website is usually broken up into four components: the design work, the domain name, the hosting fees, and search engine optimisation/registration. Below is a guide to the costs involved.
Cost Breakdown
Design Work
This is the main consideration, and covers the design, construction, testing, and uploading of your new site to your host. The amount you spend on this is open ended, but you should be prepared to spend at least $500.
This is normally a once-off fee.
Domain Name
You can register a .com domain name with Monsoon for just $15.40 p.a., or com.au for just $44.00 p.a. That's up to 70% cheaper than MelbourneIT!
Hosting
This is the online equivalent of paying rent for your business premises. It is the cost of storing your website files on a computer (the 'server' or 'host') so that others can view it. Monsoon offers fully featured hosting plans from $88.00 p.a. More information on our hosting plans.
Both domain registration and hosting are recurring fees.
Optional Components
Search Engine Registration
All the major search engines except Google now charge to include your site in their listings. Currently Yahoo is the most expensive at $USD299.00 p.a. We will discuss all the factors with you and tailor a program to suit your situation.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
SEO is a specialised field and requires constant monitoring and tweaking to be effective. Depending on your marketing strategy and target markets, your needs in this area will vary. Monsoon will consult with you to determine your needs and set up a SEO maintenance plan for you.
